Dinnington match report
Rotherham Clifton travelled to Dinnington looking to over turn a heavy defeat suffered earlier in the season. Rotherham Clifton lost the toss and faced the kick off. straight from the the start rotherham Clifton were under pressure and defended poorly allowing Dinnington to move the ball through their back line for the first try and with wind behind converted (7-0). Clifton carried on defending poorly and not managing to get control of the ball were put under alot of pressure but finally woke up and Jean-Luc Perkins got away to score but the conversion was missed (7-5). Dinnington kept the pressure on forcing Rotherham Clifton to defend. Dinningtons pressure paid off with two more tries and a conversion, leaving Rotherham Clifton behind 19-5 at half time. After a strong talking to at half time Rotherham Clifton came out with a better approach and mind set which got rewards with two Jean-Luc Perkins tries (19-15). Clifton battled on but started to let the work rate and focus slip allowing Dinnington to run in two tries (29-15). Rotherham Clifton regrouped and focused managed to get another try and this time Kirk shaw managed to convert. The game ended with Rotherham Clifton losing 29-22 Man of the match award went to James Burton and Callum Lomax for their all round work. After the match coaches charlie cole and Adam Scott were a bit disapointed by the result and believe the team missed out on a good chance to win by a slow start. Hopefully next week they can put that right.
